Since moving in 2010, my wife and I have built a super-insulated ICF house from scratch, helped other free staters get settled, and become new parents. We heat our home exclusively with wood harvested on our property and have done all the planning, design, and almost all of the construction ourselves. When we have needed help, we've hired free staters. Our experiment is trying to build a resilient and sustainable life from scratch, while promoting a peaceful and just world for everyone.
